National Grid Gas Awards £3 Million Contract to Drallim
National Grid Gas has awarded St Leonards company Drallim Industries the contract for the manufacture of 966 Slamshut Cabinets for their countrywide replacement programme. The contract has a duration of seven years with a value of £3 million.
The cabinets, which have sixteen variations, work in conjunction with Slamshut Valves to monitor gas pressure and rapidly cut the flow of gas when the pressure in the system exceeds the set point to avoid overpressure conditions.
The first shipment of 110 units is expected to leave the Sussex based company in March 2010, with regular batches following to enable National Grid Gas to meet their installation programme.
