Sea Space finalises plans for next Priory Quarter development

Sea Space, the East Sussex economic development company, has drawn up plans for the next phase of Hastings’ Priory Quarter business district.

The proposed scheme would replace Queensbury House at the top of Havelock Road, plus some adjoining buildings, with a distinctive, contemporary landmark development facing the rail station. It would provide 6,000m2 net (64,500 sq ft) of office space and a café/restaurant on the ground floor. It is designed to build on the positive change under way in Priory Quarter and bring further jobs to Hastings.

The development would be built in two stages with the first part facing onto Havelock Road. Architects Proctor and Matthews have prepared the designs. Click the following link for detailed information on the scheme from the architects.

These latest proposals follow the creation by Sea Space and its partners of: the Lacuna Place offices, now 65% occupied; One Priory Square, purchased by Saga to accommodate up to 800 staff; Priory Square; and a second building—to be completed later this year—for The University of Brighton’s Hastings campus.

Sea Space is inviting pre-let enquiries from companies interested in the latest proposed development.

Sea Space would also be happy to hear any comments or questions about the scheme - contact Paul Adams on pauladams@sea-space.co.uk or 01424 723 123.

In addition, there will be an opportunity in the near future to find out more and to lodge comments with Hastings Borough Council on Sea Space's planning application for the scheme by visiting www.hastings.gov.uk/planning or calling 01424 781066.
